About Elizabeth ~

Hi, I am Elizabeth Leon, a Catholic author, speaker, wife, mother, and grandmother from Ashburn, Virginia.  I have been a leader in ministry and faith formation for more than thirty years. My mission is to inspire and equip others on the Journey of the Beloved to claim their identity as beloved sons and daughters of the King and to find transformation and freedom through healing in Christ.

For so long, I didn’t believe healing was possible for me. The enemy used the brokenness of divorce, death, and abuse to convince me that I was the problem.  I spent decades trapped in a fortress of perfectionism, control, shame and un-holy self-reliance.

In 2016, the Lord invited me to the Journey of the Beloved and began a powerful work of healing, transformation, and restoration in my soul.  He used the life and death of my son to teach me to let myself be loved and to destroy the lies of the enemy.

I am the founder of the Journey of the Beloved, a ministry that helps men and women move from heartache to healing with Jesus through my speaking, coaching, Sacred Story groups, and original workshop.

I am the author of Let Yourself Be Loved: Big Lessons from a Little Life, my award-winning memoir that tells the story of our son, John Paul Raphael, and the fierce beauty and purpose we discovered through his short and shining life.

I serve as the Director of Family Support for Red Bird Ministries, a Catholic grief-support ministry for families of child loss, where I co-host and produce our podcast, It’s Not for Nothing. I also provide Catholic inner healing coaching and Sacred Story workshops through You Are Made New Ministries.  I hold a B.S. in Biology from the College of William and Mary and a Level II Narrative Focused Trauma Care Certification from The Allender Center at the Seattle School of Theology and Psychology, as well as graduate-level study in Social Work from George Mason University. I am also a member of the Catholic Speakers Organization.

Above all, I am a companion and friend as you navigate your own journey through darkness, suffering, and grief.  I am here to walk with you on the journey of the beloved as we learn to let ourselves be loved.

The darkness of grief led me to peace, purpose & joy.

Thank you for your interest!  I look forward to connecting with you. ~Elizabeth
